Sunshine Nevada’s 2020 Camp Dates Coming Soon!

The Camper Application for Camp Shine, Camp I Am and Camp TLC will be available in March, 2020. Camp enrollment is on a first come, first served basis so please complete your application when it’s released in order to secure your space at either Camp Shine, Camp I AM or Camp TLC. In order to accommodate as many children/teens/young adults as possible at Camp Shine, Camp I AM and Camp TLC, campers may only attend one camp per summer. 

Camp is an amazing, life-enriching experience for the children who attend. Camp Shine and Camp I AM are held at the beautiful Torino Ranch in Lovell Canyon thanks to the giving heart of one of our more generous contributors, The Brett Torino Foundation. Camp TLC is held at the Camp Oaks facility in Big Bear, CA.  All camp programs are provided at low cost to the children/families who participate due to the generosity of The Brett Torino Foundation and many additional sponsors. There is a $100 application fee per camper.

Please use the link at the bottom of this page when the 2020 Camper Application is released. Please remember the Camper Application is not considered complete until we have received all requested documents.

An in-person interview with the child is required for new campers only. Occasionally Sunshine Nevada’s staff may request an interview with returning campers.  Acceptance is not automatic; completion of the camper application does not automatically guarantee acceptance into camp. We will notify you of acceptance via email or by phone once the process has concluded.

There are certain occasions that a child’s specific needs cannot be accommodated by our programs. In these instances, your child may not be accepted to camp. This may happen even after you have completed the application, provided all necessary documentation and attended the camper interview. These situations include but are not limited to:

  • Aggressive behavior
  • An amount of attention that is more than our program can provide
  • Certain medical issues
  • Excessive wandering

Once you have completed and submitted your camper application and are accepted to camp, you’ll be sent an official “Welcome Packet”.  It will contain all of the important information you’ll need to know about your camp experience.  The camp “Packing List” will be sent to you at that time but if you’d like to preview or download the camp packing list, click here.
