Welcome to Sunshine Nevada’s 2017 Camp Season!
 

The Camper Application for Camp I Am or Camp TLC is now available. Scroll down to bottom of page and click on link to access the Camper Application. Camp enrollment is on a first come, first served basis so please complete your application at your earliest convenience in order to secure your space at either Camp I AM or Camp TLC.  In order to accommodate as many children as possible at Camp I AM and Camp TLC, children may only attend one camp per summer. 
 

Camp is an amazing, life-enriching experience for the children who attend.  Camps are held at the beautiful Torino Ranch in Lovell Canyon thanks to the giving heart of one of our more generous contributors, The Brett Torino Foundation.  All camp programs are free of charge to the children/families who participate due to the generosity of The Brett Torino Foundation and many additional sponsors.

 

THE 2017 AUTISM CAMP PROGRAM CALENDAR FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM AND RELATED CONDITIONS is as follows:

June 29 – July 2, 2017               Camp I AM                           Location: Torino Ranch

August 3 – 6, 2017                      Camp TLC                            Location: Torino Ranch
 

After Camper application has been submitted, future correspondence in regards to camp will come from camper@sunshinenevada.org.  Please be sure to add this email address to your contact list and/or safe senders list so you do not miss out on any important future emails.
 

Please use the link at the bottom of this page to access the 2017 Camper Application. If you are a returning parent/camper, you may use your login information from last year. You will be able to download last year’s application to use as a reference.  Please remember the Camper Application is not considered complete until we have received all requested documents.
 

An in-person interview with the child is required for new campers only. Occasionally Sunshine Nevada’s staff may request an interview with returning campers.  Acceptance is not automatic; completion of the camper application does not automatically guarantee acceptance into camp. We will notify you of acceptance via email or by phone once the process has concluded.
 

There are certain occasions that a child’s specific needs cannot be accommodated by our programs. In these instances, your child may not be accepted to camp. This may happen even after you have completed the application, provided all necessary documentation and attended the camper interview. These situations include but are not limited to:

  • Aggressive behavior
  • An amount of attention that is more than our program can provide
  • Certain medical issues
  • Excessive wandering

Once you have completed and submitted your camper application and are accepted to camp, you’ll be sent an official “Welcome Packet”.  It will contain all of the important information you’ll need to know about your camp experience.  The camp “Packing List” will be sent to you at that time but if you’d like to preview or download the camp packing list, click here.
